Sindh minister seeks law to allocate CSR funds
Committee ordered to form draft bill for releasing funds to areas rich in natural resources

Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh ordered on Tuesday the preparation of a draft bill for a law that would enable the provision of development funds, under the principles of corporate social responsibility, to areas rich in natural resources in the province.
Presiding over an energy department meeting, the minister stressed the need for formulating laws that would lead to allocating and releasing funds for developing education, health and other sectors as well as employment creation and the provision of clean drinking water in regions where natural resources were found in abundance.
He assigned the task for preparing the draft for the law to a committee headed by Thar Foundation general manager Naseer Memon and comprising Sindh energy department and law department representatives and other relevant officials.
The committee has been directed to submit the draft within 15 days.
