MULTAN: The Livestock Department has started vaccination of animals and inoculated more than 150,000 cattle heads. The department recently issued a press release announcing measures it was taking to protect cattle from the Gal-Ghuto epidemic.

According to officials, 50 veterinary assistants will be deputed in the district and each veterinary assistant had been tasked to vaccinate a minimum 60 animals daily. The decision has been greatly appreciated by district residents. “We did have enough vets in the district and many of our animals have been dying. The Livestock Dept should also increase the number of veterinary doctors practicing in each district,” said farmer
