Five gamblers among 13 arrested by Islamabad police

Have accelerated efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements, drug pushers, say police

ISLAMABAD:
As many as 13 suspects, including five gamblers, were apprehended from different areas of the city, recovering cash, gambling tools, narcotics and weapons from their possession,a police spokesperson said on Sunday.

Following the directions of Islamabad Police Inspector General (IGP) Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and Operations-DIG Waqaruddin, all officials of the capital’s police force have accelerated their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers.

Subsequently, City-SP Omer Khan constituted a police team under the supervision of DSP Iqbal Khan along with SHO Asim Ghaffar, SI Zahid Akhtar and others. They raided a gambling den in the circle and nabbed five suspected gamblers. Stake money and gambling tools were recovered from their possession.


The police team also arrested accused Mufsar Ali and recovered a 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from him.
