Karachi presented a deserted look on Sunday as the Sindh government, intending to curb the spread of coronavirus, announced to tighten the lockdown across the province during the weekend.
Hence, over the weekend, the otherwise bustling provincial capital remained largely devoid of activity, with business activities suspended. This was despite no vigilance from authorities. Little traffic was seen on main thoroughfares of the city on Sunday morning, while the public transport also remained suspended for two days.

"I am relieved to see that law is being implemented and a sense of responsibility prevails among the masses," said Dr Khalid Khan, a senior doctor, commenting on the situation.
Dr Haider Abbas, a retired university teacher remarked, "We generally lack the sense of social responsibility and the concept of mutual respect," adding that the current situation, though, was difficult, but presented an opportunity for citizens to act more responsible.
