ABBOTTABAD:
A local court has extended a stay on recruitment against 246 vacant posts of Primary School Teachers (PST) in the Abbottabad district until June 6.

During a hearing on Wednesday, the court sought a response from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Elementary and Secondary Education Department (ESED).

The court had previously issued notices to the parties during a hearing on February 29, 2020.

The candidates had approached the court and obtained a restraining order on recruitments taking place across the district. In this regard, Senior Civil Judge Sajid directed K-P ESED, Abbottabad District education officer-male and the National Testing Service director. The district education officer had also conducted interviews for the 246 vacant posts in primary schools in Abbottabad from February 24 to 27 this year, the court said.
