Army, Rangers to impose curfew in sealed areas

Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) on Wednesday sealed nine areas of the city

With the number of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases rising to 3,188 with 34 associated deaths, the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) on Wednesday sealed nine areas of the city.

ICTA Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat, in a notification on Wednesday, said that they have sealed an office floor in the Saudi Pak Tower located in the Blue Area, Pakistan Sports Board, and some streets in Gulrajgan in Chatha Bakhtawar.

Apart from these, Street 13-C of the National Police Foundation in Sector E-11/4, Street 26 of Sector I-10/4, Street 111 of Sector G-9/4, Street 54 of Sector G-7/2 and Street 62 of Sector G-6/4 have also been sealed, the notification said. PWD Colony Block 6 is also among the areas from where a cluster of infected patients was reported.

To help maintain quarantine in these areas, the ICTA said they have called in the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and police to prevent anyone from either entering or exiting these areas and to impose a curfew there.
