Hrithik Roshan reveals similarity Rohit and Jaadu had in 'Koi Mil Gaya'

You won't be able to guess it!

One of the most memorable performances Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has ever delivered would undoubtedly be his character in Koi Mil Gaya.

Rohit was differently-abled, and thus, able to connect with an alien (since he felt like one himself) like no other. But the Bollywood heartthrob has also revealed another reason behind their bond - their twinning thumbs.

Hrithik found a friend in Jaadu, an alien, in the 2003 sci-fi film. A fan of the actor made an interesting observation about a similarity between Jaadu and Rohit in the film after which Hrithik confirmed that Jaadu was given an extra thumb to provide Rohit with a sense of familiarity.

The fan wrote on Hrithik’s Twitter, "I was watching #KoiMilGaya on television and observed something weird. Was it an on purpose, the decision to give an extra thumb to jaadu to make him similar to #RohitMehra (#HrithikRoshan)? Was it the major reason for the connection between the two characters?”

Confirming his fan's observation, Hrithik wrote, "Yes. It was to help Rohit feel familiarity. But we had to keep it subtle as the thumb didn’t look as great as I wanted. You have a good eye, my friend. Stay safe."

Recently, another fan of the actor asked him on Twitter if he called the aliens again after a loud boom was heard in several parts of Bengaluru.

One Twitter user wrote, "Hey Hrithik, is that you who called aliens by mistake again?" The tweet caught Hrithik's attention and he replied by affirming that it was not a mistake. "It wasn't a mistake. It's time," Hrithik quipped.

Directed by Rakesh Roshan, Koi Mil Gaya starred Hrithik and Preity Zinta in the leading roles. The film was about Rohit Mehra (played by Hrithik), who was mentally challenged until Jaadu, a specie from outer space comes to his rescue on Earth to make him feel like he fits in – ironically.

In 2018, Koi Mil Gaya completed 15 years of release. Hrithik penned a long note on how the film paved way for his superhero hit Krrish. He wrote, "Koi Mil Gaya gave birth to Krrish, and in a weird way, playing Rohit gave birth to a newfound strength in myself."

The star bagged several Best Actor awards the same year.
