When Mahesh Bhatt wanted to name Ranbir Kapoor’s biopic ‘Ladies Man’
Ranbir is now famously dating the director's daughter, Alia Bhatt
Mahesh Bhatt might have warmed up to his daughter, Alia Bhatt's beau Ranbir Kapoor now, but there was a time when the ace filmmaker wasn't so fond of Ranbir's dating history.
Back when he appeared on Karan Johar's talk show, Mahesh had quite a lot to say about Ranbir, reported Hindustan Times. When asked what he would name Ranbir's biopic, Mahesh instantly replied, "Ladies Man."

Alia's cousin, Emraan Hashmi, who was also present on the show, also advised Ranbir to "stop playing the ladies’ man stereotype." In the same interview, Mahesh had also joking warned that no one should think of dating Alia. “I will keep her locked," he had said.
As fate would have it, Alia is now in a long-term serious relationship with Ranbir!
Ranbir's love life wasn't his only concern then. He also seemed to harbour some disdain for the actor's film choices and performances. When asked about a film he had walked out of the last time, he named Ranbir's 2011 hit Rockstar. He also termed Ranbir's other super-hit Barfi the "most overrated film."

It's also interesting to note that Mahesh seems to have found a soft spot for Ranbir after all these years. Talking to The Telegraph, he was quoted as saying, "They (Alia and Ranbir) are in love. You don’t need to be a genius to get that! I love Ranbir… he’s a great guy."
