Haripur cop fired for poor performance
Afghan refugees also filed complaints with the Hazara Division
HARIPUR:
The Haripur district police officer on Tuesday terminated an ASI from service for failing to entertain the complaints of an Afghan refugee and senior officials of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) at his assigned police station.
District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ashfaq Ahmed said that senior officials of the CAA had been looted by gunmen while on their way to the Haripur district court. Subsequently, the officers went to the Panniya police station to file a complaint. However, the police station in-charge ASI Tariq Saleem was hesitant to register the complaint.
Meanwhile, scores of Afghan refugees also filed complaints with the Hazara Division DIG that police officers were extorting them and taking bribes. DPO
