SECP, KSE to discuss margin financing rules
ISLAMABAD:
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has announced that it has organised a meeting with the Karachi Stock Exchange’s board of directors and some prominent market participants on June 22 to discuss the draft Securities (Margin Financing, Lending, Borrowing and Pledging) Rules 2010.
The meeting, which will serve as a brainstorming session, is also expected to discuss various aspects of enhanced risk management in relation to effective and transparent financing products for the capital markets, the SECP said in a press release on Friday.
The draft Securities (Margin Financing, Lending, Borrowing and Pledging) Rules 2010, which were vetted by the Law Division earlier this month, have been made available on the official website of the SECP for seeking public comments, the Commission said.
“These rules will be promulgated by the federal government after completion of the consultative process,” it said.
