Number of deaths due to virus at Nishtar Hospital reaches 67

As many as three people have died in Nishtar Hospital after being infected by the coronavirus and remaining under treatment.

The total number of deaths due to the virus in Nishtar Hospital has risen to 67.

The number of patients undergoing treatment for coronavirus in six isolation wards has risen to 25.

As many as 254 people out of 990 reported on suspicion of coronavirus have tested positive for coronavirus and 122 have recovered and returned home.

A 49-year-old woman and 37-year-old man of Multan, and a 65-year-old man of Dera Ghazi Khan died in the Nishtar Hospital's isolation ward on Thursday afternoon.

Two coronavirus cases emerge in Pakistan


The first death due to the virus was reported in the hospital on April 1.

The condition of three patients currently under treatment is said to be critical.

As many as 11 patients are being treated on the suspicion of coronavirus, whose test reports are awaited.

On the other hand, Nishtar Hospital Focal Person Dr Irfan Arshad stated that so far diagnostic tests of samples of more than 8,000 persons from Multan and other areas of south Punjab, including quarantine centers, have been carried out in the hospital.

Among them, 893 have been tested positive for coronavirus. Meanwhile, 122 people have been discharged from Nishtar Hospital after recovering from coronavirus.
