Deputy Commissioner Omar Sher Chattah has said steps including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to fight the coronavirus disease threat were being implemented in the district, said.

He stated this while chairing a meeting to review at the deputy commissioner’s office on Wednesday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Arjumand Zia, Assistant Commissioner Farhan Mujtaba, Health Chief Executive Officer Dr Parvez Iqbal, Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Khan, Agriculture Deputy Director Muhammad Nawaz, District Food Controller Muhammad Toufeeq and other officials concerned were present on the occasion.


The deputy commissioner was briefed on the steps taken against coronavirus situation, anti-locust operation and for achieving wheat procurement target.

The meeting was told that safety measures and SOPs regarding coronavirus were being executed at every level of the district. It was stressed to have more precautionary steps avoiding the epidemic disease during the smart lockdown.

The meeting was further told that anti-locust operation was continuing in affected areas of the district whereas locust had been controlled to a large extent. The DC further said that 71% of the set wheat procurement target of 727,830 tonnes of wheat had been achieved so far, adding that steps were underway for getting 100% procurement target.
