In Islamabad, girl killed for turning down marriage proposal
Homicide unit has yet to trace and apprehend the suspects

ISLAMABAD:
A young girl’s refusal to accept a man’s marriage proposal enraged the man so much that he killed her, police said on Tuesday.
Muhammad Irfan, the victim’s father, told the Koral police that a few days ago, he had turned down Ghufran’s proposal for his daughter.
On Tuesday, when they left their house to go meet their relatives, the Ghufran allegedly intercepted them on a motorbike along with an accomplice and allegedly shot the victim.
The girl succumbed to her wounds and died on the spot while the assailants fled.
The police have registered a first information report (FIR). Further investigations in the case have been handed over to the Islamabad Police’s homicide unit. However, the homicide unit has yet to trace and apprehend the suspects.
Meanwhile, the body of the victim was handed over to her family after completing all medico-legal procedures, including a post-mortem.
