A man strangled his wife when she was asleep over suspicion of her illicit relationship with someone in Rodala area.

Sources revealed that Muhammad Nasir, a resident of Chak No 357 GB, was suspicious regarding the character of his 27-year-old wife Zainab Bibi. The suspect strangled his wife to death and escaped from the scene. Police took the body of the deceased into custody and handed it over to her family after postmortem. Police registered a case against the accused Nasir who fled. Police launched raids for his arrest.

Separately, two minors died of suffocation after falling into a flour storage drum in Rodala.

Sources revealed that Ghulam Murtaza’s family, a resident of Chak No 357 GB were sleeping in their house when their children fell in the flour drum while playing which was lying in their house. His four-year-old daughter Noor Fatima and her one-and-a-half-year-old brother Mohsin Murtaza died of suffocation as the lid of the flour drum was closed.

A large number of villagers reached the spot. The police reached the spot and took the bodies of the two siblings into custody and handed them over to their families after taking necessary actions.
