Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Tuesday that 573 more coronavirus cases were reported in the province, raising the tally to 23,507.

Moreover, five more infection-related deaths have been reported, as a result of which the province’s death toll has climbed to 374, he added.

Providing details about the newly reported cases, he said that in Karachi, 135 cases were reported from East district, 109 from Central district, 94 from South district, 77 from Korangi, 31 from Malir and 21 from West district. Besides, he said, 24 cases were reported from Hyderabad, 12 from Shikarpur, 11 from Jacobabad, five from Kashmore, four from Larkana, three each from Sukkur and Umerkot, two each from Qambar-Shahdadkot, Khairpur and Dadu and one from Sanghar.


He further stated that the condition of 248 patients was critical, of whom 49 were put on ventilator. On the other hand, 542 patients have recovered from contagious disease, he added.

According to the CM 14,619 patients are under treatment in the province, of whom 12,931 are isolated at homes, 794 at isolation centres and 893 at hospitals.

The CM urged people to adopt all the precautionary measures, warning that otherwise it would be impossible to contain the virus.
