RAWALPINDI:
Murree police on Saturday registered a case against a man and his family for allegedly setting his wife on fire and showing it as an accidental death.

Raja Mehmood, who is a salt trader by profession, informed the police that his niece Tayabba Bibi was married with Asad Masood more than a year ago. It was an arranged marriage held with consent and blessings of both the families said he.

However in March, Masood informed Tayyba’s family that she had succumbed to the burn injuries suffered due to a gas leakage explosion at home.

Memood told the police that her niece died a painful death, however, the family was consoled to believe it as an accident. However, some weeks later the victim’s brother, Asif Mehmood, came to know about some shocking facts about her sister’s death.

The complainant said that Masood told him that he has heard from close relatives that Tayyaba did not die in accident, instead her husband and in-laws doused petrol over her and set her on fire.
