‘Public support vital to curb virus’

CM said there is a need to change the thinking and living standards of people at a collective level

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has appealed to the people to follow preventive measures against Covid-19, besides maintaining social distancing during Chand Raat and Eidul Fitr.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Saturday. She discussed with Buzdar steps taken to tackle coronavirus.

The CM said standard operating procedures (SOPs) should be implemented efficiently. “Nobody knows when this pandemic will come to an end,” he said. He said the fight against coronavirus should be fought with patience and perseverance. He added that lively nations always find ways in difficult situations.


The CM said economic activities have been reviving as transportation and train service resumed but the implementation of precautionary measures concerning the virus should be of utmost importance.

He maintained that the support of people is vital to stop the spread of this virus. “Government efforts would yield positive results if people would follow the SOPs in a real sense,” the minister remarked.
