LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar launched a book titled 'The Monuments of Lahore,' a collage of architectural archaeology of the provincial metropolis, at his office on Friday. Information secretary and Archaeology director general were also present on the occasion.

Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Taimoor Bhatti presented the book to the chief minister. The CM appreciated the efforts of the archeology department for preserving the history of 83 historical buildings of the provincial capital through this book.

He added that these buildings were a worthwhile heritage and the provincial capital enjoyed a unique position because of its rich archaeological and cultural heritage.  The chief minister further said that this pictorial history would sensitise the citizens of the province about the diverse culture and history of the city of Lahore.

He maintained that the provincial capital had long been a centre of culture and literary activities and its archaeological heritage was still very attractive.
