156 penalised for profiteering in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi district administration has penalised 156 people for profiteering and hoarding while recovering Rs292,000 in fines during the 876 raids conducted during the last 24 hours, said a spokesperson for the district administration on Tuesday.


The price monitoring teams have conducted 23,006 raids against profiteering and hoarding in the district during May and recovered fines worth over Rs6.9 million from violators. Following the directives of the Punjab government, the district administration had constituted teams to check profiteering, hoarding and whether rate lists of daily use items are being followed.
