A worker of a local waving factory was electrocuted in Thikriwala area on Monday. Police spokesman said that 35-year-old Muhammad Shafiq, a resident of Chak No 241-RB, was busy in running a power loom at a local Waving Factory at Chak No 66-JB when he touched electricity wire.
As a result, he received a fatal electric shock and died on the spot. Police took the body into custody and started an investigation. Meanwhile, the body of a newborn boy was found from the field in Jaranwala City police area on Monday. Police officials said that some unknown persons threw packed body of a newborn male at a deserted place in the field near Shehroana Bridge, Mehboob Town, Jaranwala.
