AKUH to train health workers for Covid-19 treatment via Tele-ICU service
Medical professionals in public sector will be shown how to treat patients via Tele-ICU service

The Sindh government is collaborating with the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) to provide free training and technical assistance to healthcare professionals working in the public sector in providing critical care to Covid-19 patients.
The programme, Tele-ICU consultation, which was launched on Monday, will help healthcare workers from across the province treat coronavirus patients by consulting experts available for guidance throughout the day.
“We need allies like AKUH to help us tackle the challenge of Covid-19,” said Sindh Health and Population Welfare Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho. “Joining hands with experts in the field will help create a stronger health system that can provide the best quality care to our people in these difficult times.”

Meanwhile, AKUH medical college dean Dr Adil Haider stated that the consultation service was a stepping stone for Pakistan as it showed how technology could help improve the healthcare system.
"Together, by extending our knowledge and expertise to one another, we can beat Covid-19 in Pakistan," said Dr Haider.
Healthcare professionals availing the service would also be able learn about ventilator management of coronavirus patients from AKUH.
Moreover, experts from the private health facility will not only help doctors, but will also offer advanced training to nurses with regard to treating critically ill patients while maintaining their own safety as well.
