The Beauty Edit: looks to try this Eid

We bring you a few easy hacks and looks you can try at home this Eidul Fitr

Eid is an excuse for all of us to get pampered at salons but unfortunately that won’t be happening this time around. With lockdown in place, we have no choice but to experiment with looks to prepare ourselves for Eid. We bring you a few easy hacks and looks you can try at home this Eidul Fitr.

Baby skin

Since we are unable to get professionals to work on our skin, we can opt for easy home-made masks or give ourselves a facial at home for clear and fresh skin. Look at your skin as a canvas when it comes to applying make-up. Make sure your skin is smooth and deeply cleansed for the make-up to set properly and give desirable results. There are plenty of tutorials and guides available online on how to pamper your skin at home.

Bushy brows

Channel your inner Cara Delevingne by embracing undone and bushy brows. Use brow pencils and gels to mimic the natural direction of your eyebrows and fill the gaps of your brows to give them your desired shape. Make sure they don’t look too harsh and the tip of your brows isn’t too sharp.

Bright blush

If a pop of colour on your eyes is not your thing, try a full blown blush! Blush on doesn’t have to be limited to just cheeks, powder on that bright pink or coral blush into the temples and all over your cheeks while diffusing into the eye socket.

You glow girl

Glowing skin is our favourite make-up trend this season. It’s not as difficult as it seems to give yourself a natural looking glow. You can easily achieve this look by slathering a mix of moisturiser, cream highlighters and face oils. Use a strobe cream before applying your foundation and make sure you only use setting powder on the oily regions of your face.

Pop of colour

A little bit of colour can make all the difference. Keep your face fresh and clean with a no-make-up make-up look and make your eyes the focal point. Add a pop of colour to the inner corner of your eyes while keeping the rest of your face fuss free. A little colour in the tear duct of your eye is enough to make your make-up popping!

Nailed it

Eid is a chance for us to go all out. Your nails are as important as your skin and hair. Make sure your nails are healthy and groomed. You can opt for bright or pastel nail colours depending on the look you want to go for this Eid. Make a subtle statement by applying two or three different shades from the same colour family for a fun look or search online on ways to give yourself a French manicure.

Let your hair do the talking

Your hair and make-up can make or break your look. While most of us have ordered our Eid outfits online we have nobody but ourselves to help style our looks. Hair accessories are everywhere these days and an easy way to elevate our looks instantly. You can opt for statement hair clips or trendy hair bows and scarves. You can match them with your outfit or opt for contrasting pieces to add some fun to your look.

Bright colours are the new black

While black eyeliner is popular, we could all do with a change. Stand out by opting for bright coloured eyeliners. If you don’t have a coloured eyeliner you can always use a small eye shadow brush and a bright coloured eye shadow.
