KARACHI: A young worker was allegedly beaten by his employer and locked inside the shop's warehouse after he lost consciousness on Saturday night. The shop owner, Amir, reportedly, beat 15-year-old Hammad, with sticks and wires after accusing him of stealing from his shop. Hammad was later rescued by area residents late at night after he gained consciousness and his shouts gained their attention. The police were then informed of the incident but Amir escaped before they reached the warehouse. However, they shifted Hammad to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment and launched an investigation into the matter. According to area residents, Amir often makes his employees, including Hammad, work late into the night.
