Accomplice injured in exchange of fire with police after looting citizen

KARACHI:
Two alleged robbers were killed and another injured as a result of an exchange of fire with the the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police near Powerhouse Chowrangi on Sunday.

Gulshan-e-Iqbal SHO Ghazala revealed that three men on a motorcycle had looted a citizen, Sahil, of his mobile phone near Rab Medical Centre. Sahil informed four patrolling police officials of the incident, she added.

Ghazala stated that after Sahil identified the robbers the police officials had an alleged encounter with them, in which two of them were killed and one was injured. The bodies and the arrested injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively.


Police listen to public complaints online

The police claimed that the injured robber, identified as Izhan Ali, said in his initial statement that he was a resident of North Karachi who had met the deceased robbers, Bali and Raju, a few days earlier at a tyre shop in the area.

A pistol was recovered from the robbers' possession, while it suspected that another weapon was disposed of somewhere on the road.
