ISLAMABAD:
A low intensity roadside blast in Bhara Kahu which damaged a vehicle on Monday which was followed by a huge explosion heard in the outskirts of the city, creating panic among locals. A firecracker blast in front of a petrol pump located in Bhara Kahu, which damaged one vehicle, however no injuries were reported, said police. “It was a similar blast to the one on June 12, and the basic aim seemed to be to created panic among people,” said a police official. Bomb disposal squad officials collected evidence from the site and sent it for further examination. It was learnt that the later explosion was caused by the disposal of contraband explosives by the army. Sources told The Express Tribune that security agencies had destroyed 900 kilograms of explosives which were recovered in 2008, after security agencies intercepted a vehicle near Dhok Kala Khan and recovered the explosives.
