LAHORE: Punjab Finance Department has issued an email and postal address to the general public for submission of their budget proposal for the fiscal year 2020-21. This was announced by Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht while chairing a review meeting of budget making on Saturday.

The priority sectors for the proposal include environment protection, economic revival, health, hygiene, investment and employment opportunities and social protection, he added. “The finance department also published ads and placed these priority sectors on its website for public awareness and their inclusion in budget making process.” He further said that inclusion of the public in the budget making process was an attempt to make it transparent as revival of public trust in government institutions was important.

The finance secretary informed the meeting that the advertisement about the priority sectors was published along with postal address and email address. He added that the budget section was reviewing the proposals received through post at the finance department in Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore. He clarified that the public could submit their suggestions and proposals by May 2020.
