Officials say it was premature to say whether the deceased had committed suicide or was murdered

The body of an 80-year-old man was found hanging from a tree near Church Road on Friday, police and rescue workers said.
Officials said that it was premature to say whether the octogenarian had committed suicide or was murdered.
After receiving reports of a body hanging from a tree, officers from the Saddar Bairooni police and Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot.
The shifted the body, identified as Mansha, to the district headquarters hospital for a postmortem.
Stating that investigations were continuing in the matter, officers said that more details about what happened to the man will come to light once they receive the post-mortem report on the exact cause of death. Furthermore, officers said that they have collected evidence from the scene.
In another incident, a man set himself on fire while in a state of intoxication and suffered 50 per cent burns.
A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said that 32-year-old Dilshad Ahmed set himself on fire near Jahangir Road in a state of intoxication. As a result, half of his body was burnt. Rescuers shifted the injured person to the burns ward at the Holy Family Hospital.
The official added that and people present at the spot had said that Dilshad was a drug addict and was high when he managed to set himself on fire.
Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation to determine whether it was an accident or if Dilshad had tried to commit suicide. If the latter is proved, legal action will be taken against him.
