FAISALABAD: A special team of the Wildlife Department has arrested two accused on charges of smuggling banned birds to foreign countries. The raiding team also took 40 parrots and three cuckoos into custody. The arrested accused were presented before special magistrate Zulfiqar Luk, who imposed a fine of Rs10,000 on each of the accused, while all the birds which were recovered from their custody were released. The Wildlife inspector told the court that the accused intended to smuggle birds to Iran.
