Rs15b recovered from govt departments

Public Accounts Committee informed about outstanding dues.

The ministry has recovered outstanding loans amounting to Rs15 billion of the total Rs18.9 billion from government departments, Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Additional Secretary Hammayat Ullah Khan on Monday told a sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).


Appearing before the sub-committee, he said that the amount was outstanding against Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Capital Development Authority, National Logistic Cell, Pakistan Railways, Wapda, Korangi Fish Harbour Authority, National Highway Authority and Industrial Development Bank of Pakistan.

The committee met under the chairpersonship of Yasmeen Rehman in the National Assembly Secretariat and discussed audit paras of the Ministry of Defence and Production and Economic Affairs Division (EAD) for the year 2004-05 and 2007-08, respectively.
