PESHAWAR:
Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid (PML-Q) MPA Nighat Orakzai of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly submitted an adjournment motion on Monday against the cleric who announced sighting of the Ramazan moon in the province on Sunday.
Orakzai said that a joint meeting of both the zonal and local Ruet-i-Hilal committees was supposed to be held for Ramazan moon-sighting on Monday; however, Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai from Qasim Ali Khan Mosque went against the decision and announced the sighting of the moon in an emergency meeting.
Peshawar’s influential Qasim Ali Khan Mosque announced late Sunday that Ramazan will begin on Monday in the province, while the rest of Pakistan is likely to observe Ramazan from Tuesday.
