One-wheelers in cop’s crosshairs
Take action per the law against one-wheelers during Sehar and Iftar times.
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Ali Akbar on Sunday directed all traffic wardens, inspectors, deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) in the city to take action per the law against one-wheelers during Sehar and Iftar times.
Motorcycles, which have been specially prepared for one-wheeling, should also be impounded, he directed. CTO Akbar further said that several arrangements have been made to curb this illicit activity, particularly on Airport Road, Peshawar Road, Jhelum Road, Ayub Park, and other areas aimed at protecting youngsters as one-wheeling is one of the causes of death and severe injuries for riders.
He said that the one-wheelers not only play with their own lives but also pose a threat for other road users.
He urged the parents to play their role to curb the activity as one-wheeling, rash, and negligent driving are the main causes of fatal accidents.
