Federal Law Minister Babar Awan said that the PPP will not file a candidate against Nawaz Sharif if he decides to contest the by-poll elections.
Speaking to media at the Multan airport, he said that the parliament is awaiting Sharif's return.
A three-member full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed a petition challenging the Sharif brothers eligibility to contest the elections on Thursday.
Awan termed the High Court’s rejection of the petition a good omen and added that Sharifs addition to the parliament will strengthen democracy.
