Covid-19 infections in K-P near 4,000

As many as 221 new cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) patients have been reported after which the toll jumped to 3,956 in the province during the past 24 hours.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra said this in a statement on the microblogging network Twitter said that out of the 244 news cases 14 are from Torkham quarantine centre.

Jhagra said that at least six new deaths were reported including four from Peshawar, one each from Malakand and Mansehra taking the tally to 209 in the province. As many as 45 patients have fully recovered from Covid-19 in the province.


The health minister added K-P coronavirus testing was 10 per cent more as compared to Wednesday. At least 1547 tests across K-P were conducted on Thursday.

Regarding the problems of medical community, the minister said that the govt will exhaust every effort and every penny to support the healthcare workers. The provincial government will do everything it can to ensure protection of rights of medical professionals, he added.
