Track record: Police book 12 thieves in a day

DERA GHAZI KHAN: City police busted three inter-provincial gangs and arrested 12 thieves and recovered 66 vehicles on Sunday. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mohammad Nawaz Warriach told reporters that police officials had been tracking the gang for several weeks. District Police Officer (DPO) Malik Tasadaq Awan and crime cell in-charge Iqbal Khan Chandya said that a special campaign had been launched against proclaimed offenders in Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur. The RPO said they had arrested 1,350 criminals this year.  The DPO also claimed to have recovered 13 kilogrammes of drugs, 2,762 liquor bottles and arrested 324 accused in the last month.
