The NED University of Engineering and Technology issued show-cause notices to at least 12 students, six associated with the All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation and the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, for fighting with each other and vandalising university property. The students fought twice in the past week and 20 students were injured. Notice boards, auditorium windows were smashed with iron rods and stones. The notices ask for a written explanation for their behaviour. They can be suspended for at least a semester. Around ten more students are expected to be served notices. “Stern action will be taken against those who are found guilty,” said Registrar Javed Aziz Khan.
