CM reviews progress on DI Khan Motorway
Survey of project likely to be ready by September
PESHAWAR:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan directed for expediting work on the Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway and Swat Expressway projects.
CM Mahmood issued these directives while presiding over a meeting held to review progress on mega uplift schemes.
The chief minister directed the relevant authorities to take required steps to ensure the completion of developmental schemes across the province within the stipulated time.
He said that unnecessary delay in developmental schemes will not to be tolerated. The Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway is a flagship project of the incumbent government, he added.
The meeting reviewed progress on the Peshawar-DI Khan motorway and Swat Expressway project and other road projects in various tourist spots of the province.
The meeting was informed that work on typographic survey of DI Khan motorway project was underway, and a complete design would be submitted by September this year. It was further informed that the 360 kilometer long motorway would consists of 18 interchanges and 45 bridges which will connect Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway to DI Khan via Kohat, Hangu, Bannu, Karak and Lakki Marwat.
The chief minister was further informed that Phase-1 of the under construction Swat Expressway would be ready for traffic in September this year. The meeting was also briefed about the progress on various other projects of the Annual Development Program in education, health, tourism, agriculture and communication sectors.
