After the medical community, the contagion of Covid-19 has found its way among Punjab Police personnel at a fast pace.
A few days ago, at least 15 police officials reportedly tested positive for the virus in a single police station (PS) in Daska. A case in Pakpattan district was also reported. On Monday, the figure roseto 56 confirmed Covid-19 cases throughout Punjab. The reports of over two dozen suspected cases were pending.

In Lahore, a few days ago, a station house officer (SHO) was tested positive. The victim was posted as Raiwind City SHO. In the same police jurisdiction, a sub-inspector had also fallen prey to the infectious disease after he was given the additional SHO charge. He had been serving as Ada Plot police post in-charge. Similarly, two traffic wardens, one posted in Model Town and the other in Naulakha sector, were also tested positive for Covid-19.
After the rising number of cases were reported, provincial police chief had ordered tests of the officials posted at pickets, Ehsaas centres, quarantine centres, hospitals and other offices.
