PGMI principal asks Covid-19 diagnosed patients to seek urgent medical care

LAHORE: Post-Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Dr Sardar Muhammad Zafar has urged the citizens to not take undue advantage of the relaxation in lockdown and take the pandemic seriously and adopt precautionary measures so that coronavirus can be eradicated.

He emphasised that the citizens should focus on their personal hygiene and ensure cleanliness in their surroundings as a safety measure so as to avoid complications further on.

The PGMI principal appealed to the citizens to exercise social distancing, especially in populous areas to beat the contagion.

“Use protective masks, gloves and sanitisers for personal as well as public safety.”

In response to a question, he said that the hospitals are facing an extraordinary situation due to Covid-19 and in these circumstances those whoever serves on the frontline is ‘undoubtedly a national hero’ for all of us.

“No compensation in the world can be a substitute for their rendered services and sacrifice,” the professor maintained.

“If you are diagnosed with coronavirus, immediately seek medical assistance instead of panicking,” he said, adding, “Isolate yourself from your family members and undertake all necessary steps to protect others from getting infected.”
