Maulana Murad Ali is the second JUI-F leader to have been killed within a week in K-P

LAKKI MARWAT: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Murad Ali was gunned down in Lakkit Marwat district on Sunday.

Lakki Martwat district police informed that unidentified armed men opened fire when he was returning home after offering taraweeh prayer in FR Tajori.

Police said the deceased was a popular religious scholar in the area. He was immediately rushed to district headquarters hospital after the attack, however, he succumbed to injuries while on the way to hospital.

The police have registered a case against unidentified gunmen and have started investigation.

SP Investigation Tahir Shah said that they had visited the crime scene and collected evidences and investigation was underway. Soon the culprits would be behind bars, he added.

Maulana Murad Ali is the second JUI-F leader who has been attacked within a week in the province.

The JUI-F leadership condemned the attack and demanded of the provincial government to immediately arrest the culprits behind attacks on the party’s leaders.
