App to help citizens report birth online

Through the app, citizens will be able to report births and deaths

LAHORE: The Punjab Local Government and Community Development Department (LG&CD) is in the process of introducing a mobile as well as a desktop application, to enable citizens of Punjab to obtain e-birth and death certificate.

Through the app, citizens will be able to report, initially births and deaths, and later in stages other Municipal issues from the comfort of home.

The mobile application named as Baldiya Online has been designed in collaboration with Punjab Information and Technology Board (PITB).

The app will be as simple and easy as possible by adding selectable options.

Initially, the option of birth and death report has been added only.

LG&CD envisages empowering citizens to an utmost possible extent through this application because digitalisation of maximum affairs of Municipal service is our intimate goal.

After reporting birth or death online via app, citizens can also attain a copy of the certificate for their convenience.

This app will also facilitate people in scheduling their visit to the headquarters or field office of their respective local government.

The Punjab Local Government and Community Development Department Secretary Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi said: “We are working on digitising our affairs in an integrated manner so that public service delivery of modern kind be ensured in the province.
