Minor girl assaulted at grocery store

Victim went to buy sugar when accused tricked her into the shop

A minor girl was allegedly raped at a grocery store in the Sakhi Sarwar area on Saturday.

The accused escaped from the scene when her condition deteriorated, but Sakhi Sarwar police arrested him later.

Initial medical reports of the victim confirmed the sexual assault. The eight-year-old girl of Sakhi Sarwar area went to a nearby grocery store to purchase sugar, where the shopkeeper’s son Qamar reportedly asked her to come inside. When the girl went inside the shop, the accused raped her.


After the incident, the girl came out of the shop crying. When neighbours and the victim’s parents saw the condition of the girl and enquired, the victim told them about the incident.

Meanwhile, the accused closed the shop and escaped. On getting information, the DPO formed a team headed by Sakhi Sarwar Police Station SHO Syed Sajjad Hussain Bukhari to arrest the accused. The police arrested the accused and registered a case against him. During interrogation, the accused confessed to raping the girl. The parents of the girl had appealed for justice.
