Violence streak continues in Lahore

LAHORE: Hundreds of incidents of crime involving violence are being consistently reported in the city, despite lockdown.

The most recent case was reported in the jurisdiction of Lower Mall police jurisdiction. The victims, Mushtaq and Samiullah, were going somewhere when unidentified armed men intercepted them to rob them off valuables. When the victims resisted, the suspects gunned them down. They then took away motorcycle, cash and other valuables from their possession and fled the scene.

A police team reached the spot on information and shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy. They also collected forensic evidences from crime scene and recorded statements of the eyewitnesses.

This is not the first incident of the month. A few days ago, an incident of murder over resistance during robbery was also reported in Liaqatabad wherein a shopkeeper was shot down. The deceased identified as Hafiz Farooq was busy in work at his shop when unidentified robbers tried to rob him.

He too offered resistance on which the accused fired at him. The victim received bullet injuries and was died when he was being shifted to a nearby hospital.
