UET Exam Leak: Suspects remanded for three more days

'Extended remand needed to interrogate accused on money, computers and materials allegedly used in leaking papers.'

The three people suspected of a role in leaking University of Engineering and Technology’s entry tests were remanded for three more days in the custody of the Anti-Corruption Establishment on Saturday.


The ACE officials had asked the judicial magistrate to extend the physical remand of Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Anees and Shujauddin for 12 days.


They said an extended remand was needed to interrogate the accused on the money, computers and materials allegedly used in leaking the question papers.
Meanwhile, Shujauddin’s counsel pleaded once again that his client was innocent.

He said Shujauddin just owned an internet cafe and had no role in the leaking the papers.

The FIR against the three accused has been registered with the Gujarpura police station under Sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant) and 109 (abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
