ISLAMABAD:
With varsities shut until June due to a lockdown, imposed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has allowed its students of BA/BS/ B.Ed, MA/MSc and other postgraduate programmes to submit their academic assignments for the Autumn 2019 semester by May 13.

Previously, the varsity had set April 27 as the last date to submit assignments.

A statement issued by AIOU Admissions Director Muhammad Riaz on Tuesday read that students have been granted additional time to complete their academic work due to the lockdown in the country.

Riaz said that all regional heads of the university have been notified that they are now required to collect completed and punched results before May 20.

He added that it has been decided that no further extensions will be considered beyond the stipulated date. The timely submission of assignments will enable the university to finalise the result of the respective programmes as per the existing annual calendar, as approved by the academic council, he added.

Students have been advised to send their assignments to their tutors by the stipulated date to qualify for their respective academic programme.
