NCOC meeting discussed future course of action based on the likely increase in coronavirus cases
Interior Minister Brigadier (R) Ijaz Shah on Sunday said people in villages were following guidelines set by the federal government to curb the spread of the virus.
During the second meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) in Ramazan, the minister apprised official that people in urban areas, however, need to be continuously educated on following the guidelines.
The meeting is reviewing the implementation of Ramazan guidelines, packages for small and medium enterprises (SME), health situation and data integration.
The interior minister said political leadership, particularly at the union council level, must play an important role in educating masses for public safety and well being, as the number of coronavirus cases soared past 12,700.

Minister for Planning Asad Umar maintained that provinces must be asked to give feedback on the level of compliance demonstrated by the people.

A day earlier, the first meeting of the NCOC took place to discuss implementation of testing, trace-tracking strategy, stock position of utility stores, update on flights and development of medical equipment.
