KARACHI:
Although the Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah is carrying out an inquiry into coronavirus-related deaths in Sindh, a judicial commission should also be set up to investigate the deaths in Karachi, stated Sindh Information minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

Addressing a press conference with Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Thursday, Shah said the judicial commission should aim to determine whose negligence led to the spread of Covid-19, adding that only this way would it be settled who was responsible.

He maintained that the Sindh government had aimed to work alongside the federal government since the start of the Covid-19 emergency, but federal ministers and spokespersons were spoiling the spirit of cooperation.

The minister further maintained that despite the Sindh government wanting to focus solely on the prevention of the spread of Covid-19, it was being forced to respond to 'baseless' accusations.
