Sindh govt announces tax concessions

KARACHI:
The Sindh government has announced a 25 per cent concession in professional tax, property tax, motor vehicle tax and entertainment tax.

According to notifications issued by the Sindh excise and taxation department on Thursday, the tax exemption will be for three months of the current financial year.

The property tax concession will be applicable to all immovable property of all categories. Meanwhile, those who have already paid property taxes will receive concessions in the following year. The concession is likely to benefit millions of residential property owners in the province.

Furthermore, the motor vehicle tax concession will be applied to commercial vehicles, including all loading trucks, mini-buses, coaches, rickshaws, taxis, vans and wagons.

Additionally, the tax relaxation on recreational activities in the province will be applicable to amusement parks, cinemas and other recreational spaces. The time frame for the subsidy on entertainment duty is set between April 1 to June 30.
