ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan government has leased ten acres of land to Allama Iqbal Open University which will establish a Model Study Center in Kharan to meet the educational needs of the locals.

The land has been leased for 30 years which will be extended according to the requirements.

Director of the University Regional Services, Inamullah Sheikh, said the Balochistan Revenue Board has given the plot to the university free of cost. The construction work of Model Study Center building will commence soon.

It is located within the limits of the municipal committee of Kharan. The study center was temporarily established in a house previously donated by the Federal Sharia Court Chief Justice Mohammad Noor Miskeenzai.

The Chief Justice was keen on expansion of educational facilities in the province. To achieve this goal, he considered Allama Iqbal Open University integration into the education system as a better option.
