HYDERABAD:

A 250-bed isolation centre is being established at Niaz Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad following a spike of novel coronavirus cases in Sindh.

The Hyderabad Club and Sindh Sports Board Hostel, which are located in the premises of stadium, have already been turned into an isolation centre. Both the club and hostel were provided beds on Monday.

Meanwhile, the supply of items from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority as requisitioned by Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro has also begun.

Ignoring orders, Karachiites move towards normalcy

Soomro told The Express Tribune that the stadium-based isolation centre would be used only if required. "That will be the last resort," he added.
