Transgenders get rations from Rawalpindi police

Rawalpindi police has so far provided more than 1,700 ration packs to members of Christian community

RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi police has started distributing rations amongst needy and deserving people who are transgender, officials said on Wednesday.

They said that the Rawalpindi police has so far provided more than 1,700 ration packs to members of the Christian community and other vulnerable segments of the society such as widows and deserving families.


The packs were distributed as part of an initiative taken by Punjab IGP Shoaib Dastgir to provide ration to the needy suffering from financial issues due to Covid-19 lockdown, CPO Ahsan Younas has been making meaningful efforts.
